Many people let their fitness routine fall to the wayside during the holidays, but not at Strength Science. We’re not going to let that happen! We’ve compiled a list of tips and tricks to help you stay on track this holiday season.
Keep moving
Just as you’ll want to stay active, you’ll want to avoid sitting for prolonged periods of time. Even just getting up and walking around for five minutes every hour will make a big difference. This also reduces the risk of diabetes and heart disease factors.
Stay hydrated
Oftentimes, our brains confuse thirst for hunger. Medical professionals recommend six to eight glasses of water per day. Staying hydrated can also help keep you from overeating at mealtime.
Don’t skip sleep
When sleep is scarce, workouts are one of the first things to go. The holidays are busy, but they’re not that busy. Set a sleep schedule and stick to it.
Game plan
It’s okay to indulge every so often, but if you know you’ll be having a big dinner, try to have a smaller or healthier lunch. Additionally, if you know you’ll be busy the day of your workout, it’s okay to reschedule. Planning ahead can ensure that you don’t end up missing out.
Go easy on yourself
The holidays can be stressful. Don’t make it worse; go easy on yourself. If you’re worrying about not being able to squeeze in a full length workout, aim for 10 or 15 minutes. Remember, some exercise is better than none. But, if you’re still feeling stressed, book one of our relaxing
massages.
